Our coats are exclusively designed for dachshunds, taking into account their unique body shapes and proportions. Unlike standard dog coats, which don’t fit dachshunds properly, our custom-fit coats are tailored specifically for their long bodies and short legs, ensuring a comfortable and snug fit for every size, from the smallest kaninchen to the largest standard dachshund.

Each of our dog coats is made to order based on your dachshund's specific measurements, ensuring your dog gets the best fit possible and you get the dog coat with the features you want. Our on-demand production process means we only make what’s needed, eliminating overproduction and waste. We use small quantities of high-quality, end-of-the-roll fabrics, which allows for more innovation and better performance for your dog. Most coats are ready and shipped within a week of receiving your measurements. Where we can, we are using renewable textiles and recyclable packaging materials.

After you place your order, we’ll send you a simple measuring form. You’ll need to measure your dachshund’s neck, chest, waist, hips, and the length from neck to tail. If you’re ordering a collar or bandana, we’ll just need the neck circumference. Once you’ve entered the measurements online, we’ll review them carefully. We’ll contact you if any of the measurements seem out of proportion before we start your custom order. You can message us any time for help with measuring.

You need a flexible plastic or cloth tape measure to accurately measure the rounded shape of your dog.  A straight school ruler or a metal retractable builder’s measure won’t be accurate enough.  If you don’t have a flexible tape measure then use a piece of string or a shoelace and then carefully measure the string.

Don’t measure too tightly or too loosely.  You should be able to run a finger between the measuring tape or string and your dog's body.  We’ll add some ease to the sizing during the pattern drafting process.  If the coat style has velcro fastenings these will give you some more flexibility for sizing, for example if you are layering the coat with a fleece snuggler underneath, or if your dog is a little bigger or smaller than before.  Measure your dog when she or he is standing up, not when they are lying down.

All Baudog products are shipped with tracking free of charge within the EU. We are unable to ship outside the EU via our Etsy platform.

After we receive your dachshund’s measurements, your custom-fit coat is typically made and shipped within 7 to 14 days. Once your order is on its way, you’ll receive a tracking number so you can follow your delivery right to your door.

Yes, your payment is completely secure. All Baudog products are sold through the Etsy platform, which uses a secure payment gateway. This includes options like Etsy Gift Cards and Etsy Credits. Etsy keeps your payment information safe, and Baudog never receives your credit card details.

We always want our customers to be happy with our products, so we carefully check the measurements you give us before starting production.  If the measurements you give us look out of proportion we will always contact you, and ask you to measure your dog again.
Under EU law, bespoke and personalised items are exempt from the cancellation rights that consumers are otherwise entitled to. Once the Consumer has placed and paid for an order with the Seller for a dog coat, produced to the Consumer’s specifications, the order cannot be cancelled.
The Seller is not required to issue a refund on return of the item if the Consumer has a change of mind or no longer requires the item.
